NOT MUCH TODAY

I spent maybe 45 minutes tonight on the painting. My days off this week are Monday and Wednesday so maybe I can make more progress on those days. I was just too tired today after work. But I think the little painting that I did do is making a big difference. I roughed in that little table I’ve been talking about, and I decided to make the background all one wall and have it fade to darkness. I was hoping it would add some interesting contrast and mood to the piece. The pic above shows how it looked a few days ago compared to now so we can see the terrible background choices I had made in the beginning. I still need to darken up the shadows on the floor cast by the figure, but I can do that in the final stage probably. I haven’t decided if I’m going to put the lamp in the mirror reflection or not. I can’t make up my mind on it. And I need to make sure I sure a ruler when I’m finalizing the dresser and table – those are some wonky edges.
