FIRST PAINTING COMPLETE

Finally – it’s done! My first family portrait in oil. I’m going to let it dry for a week, then I’m going to varnish it.

It’s a strange feeling to have worked on something for so long and then reached the point where you say, “It’s done.” I’m still very critical. I rarely look at my own work after it’s completed because my eyes will dart to all the areas where I feel I could improve. I guess the ideal goal would be to one day reach the ranks of the elite where the world considers one a “master”. I still think it’s a possibility….with a lot of hard work, discipline, and patience.
